READ AN EXCERPT

'The heavens began to moan and rumble as he walked
around the house looking for Bo. He itched from the mosquito bites sustained on his walk up the track and felt very hot and dizzy.

He saw a bunch of nuts fall to the ground to the right of the house. Then
he saw a long stick with a metal hook attached. Bo was using it to cut down
the green-skinned Betle nuts her father chewed all day.

She crouched down to pick up a bunch of nuts, then she looked over her shoulder and stared at him before walking further away from the house,
leaving the pole on the  ground.

He followed, and it began to rain.

Soon, fine threads of water became thick strands beating the hair on
his head,  streaming over his eyes and over his nose and lips.

Nong Bo walked on, down a slope. When he reached her, she was standing under a  big old rubber tree, her back leaning on its trunk. She watched him approach, staring him straight in the eye. She planned to take him to a small hut only a few yards away.

He stopped and leant his arm on the tree trunk. He was a foot
taller than her. She smiled, showing a flash of bright white teeth as her lips
parted. He leant forward to kiss her and she turned her head away.

Although she wanted him, she did not want to make love to him
there. She walked away.

Then his hand gripped her wrist, strongly. A few feet further
there was a fallen rubber tree, lying across the grass. He placed his lips on her
mouth and she tasted his warm tongue. He wanted her there and she was about to protest, when his strong arms and passionate kisses stirred her senses. Never before had it felt like this. No one had touched her so gently but
with so much obvious passion and desire.

They fell back onto the log and the rain fell, beating on his
back. He pulled open her blouse, stretched the cups of her bra to release her
plump breasts and sucked their wide nipples. His right hand slipped inside
her thigh and pulled back the gusset of her underwear, tenderly stroking her
he raised his lips to engage her mouth again. She drank his passion like an
intoxicating medicine which soothed her heart and made her giddy. '
